This Solid Sterling Silver Cassandra Horse carries the story of a woman whose gift was to see what others could not. A deep London Blue Sapphire forms her right eye as she gallops towards your heart. I feel the blue sapphire is a symbol of Cassandra’s prophetic sight that was dismissed. This deep blue evokes the depth and mystery of seeing beyond what is immediately visible. I was inspired by Cassandra’s story and created this piece. She was a Trojan priestess of Athena. Her beauty caught the attention of the god Apollo, who in courting her, bestowed on her the gift of prophecy. When she would not marry him, Apollo decided that Cassandra would keep the gift of prophecy but no one would believe her words as truth.

In the battle of Troy she foresaw that the gift horse left by the Greeks was hollowed out and filled with men hiding who planned to invade. No one believed her warnings, and thus out spilled the invaders from the horse which led to the fall of the once impenetrable Troy. There are those among us whose gift of prophecy, sight, and knowing has been disregarded and even inverted. This pendant is for you.

To ride a horse well requires a deeply centered intuitive focus. To ride the mad pace of our times requires a deeply centered intuitive presence. This talisman is to activate the primal presence of truth and the instinct of knowing and where to pull the reins. It is a protector for road trips, an ally for galactic travel.

The Bronze Age White Horse on the hills of Uffington, the mythical Norse horses Árvakr and Alsviôr who pull the Sun, the shapeshifting Celtic Kelpie, and the Horse Kin that I have spoke with, all nudged me while crafting this talisman.
