This trifecta of Altar dishes shimmering in three different bronzes, is in honor of our water kin. An abalone shell is one of the most mystical and elusive finds in the natural world. Yet abalone is now an endangered species. Ecologically, they maintain the ocean habitat by controlling algal density. In California Indigenous foraging, the abalone was precious food and the shells were crafted into elegant adornments. This shellfish ally who is essential to the balance of the water worlds is who I am honoring. 10 % of sales will go to abalone restoration and protection efforts via Center for Biological Diversity.
